I bought some of the alien tape as seen on TV. I had a photo of my grandkids I wanted to hang on my wall. I’m very disappointed with the new alien tape. #1 is not as thick as the roll tape, very flimsy it doesn’t stick as well. Went to Walmart hoping to find the rolls and all I found was a pre- cut tape in a fancy box. Tape doesn’t hold as well as roll.

I tried to reposition one and when I pulled on it, the paint on the wall starting ripping! Horrible! Now what? It says on the package that it may cause paint to peel .. so that’s why you read all the information just to be sure..
Purchased Alien tape after seeing infomercial about how good it is……”holds up to 17.5 pounds easily”.
It might hold a 17 pound concrete block up but it won’t hold my 4 pound baseball bats (in a tube) on my wall.
I used Alien tape to put 10 separate bats on the wall and within a week 4 of them had fallen down. I even tried using extra tape to put them back up and 2 of them fell again. All directions were followed.
I would definitely NOT suggest that anyone buy this brand. IT DOES NOT WORK !

Trial run FAILED! BEWARE. I had a framed, expensive wallart that hung on a nail. Kept shifting, so I put a small piece of Alien Tape at bottom to secure it. Tried to rake artwirk down. Twisted it once off nail head and painting came down well. However, Alien Tape on wall seems to want a life there!
Pulled it off along with paint and sheetrock! I’m really upset since I bought into this crap!

I’m reading reviews after my purchase, and am certainly glad I did. It substantiates the need to be very, very choosy about how it is utilized.
I have only used it to secure a pencil sharpener to the flat top of a metal file cabinet. The securable surface under the pencil sharpener is very minimal so there is not a lot of contact with tape. However, it is really solid at this point. I did notice the instructions say it is not for drywall and these reviews certainly prove the point.
So my limited experience so far says it might come in handy for some very limited uses. Since it came in a 3 roll box, I suspect it will deteriorate long before I ever identify those successful limited uses.
We are now in the hype period for worthless weight loss products too. It is hard to understand how our tax dollars fund a very expensive agency designed to protect consumers. But these frauds are allowed to continue. Makes a great case for taking everything important out of the hands of government bureaucrats. Little is accomplished as there is no system of accountability.
I am an OTR Long Haul Truck Driver. I didn’t want to drill in my tractor dash to mount my Cobra CB, so I bought Alien tape. Never heard of it, so I wasn’t sure if it suit my needs. Well, when I decided to replace my CB, I had to use a crow bar. It almost ripped the steel outer case/shell off my CB. It works all right. Now, rinsing and reusing didn’t work for me. Maybe I did it wrong. If the surface is clean sand dry and gives it some time to adhere, it’s got the grip of an octopus! Use it sparingly.
Or it can rip apart whatever it’s stuck to cause it doesn’t want to let go.

I used it to hang pictures on my painted walls that are old plaster and the pictures were put up last Xmas and are still up. I used it to put a super lite picture up on the side of my moms newly installed cupboards and it fell within two days and took a high area of paint with it. So maybe you need to not use it on drywall or board surfaces. I stuck a heavy shampoo bottle to my shower surround and it’s still up months later. So I think it’s what you stick it to

I bought the three pack. Total waste of money. Last night I used it to hang two framed pictures. Each weigh under a pound. Alien Tape claims it hold 18 pounds. Less than 10 hours later, I heard a crash & one frame fell off & broke. Don’t waste your money.

Exactly its a waste of money
Doesn’t seem to hold well on vertical surfaces, but I’ve been using it to hold a panel light (a couple pounds) on my cupboard ceiling and it seems to be working great. I used it to hang a decorative bourbon barrel stave on my cupboard (cherry wood) and it fell off after a week. Careful too on drywall…it peels off the paper.
I hung a cross over a door. Fell about hour later broke. Waste of money!

I used alien tape on my painted wall,the picture didnt even have glass in it.It weighrd about 1/4 of a pound.Kept falling to one side so i tried to take the picture to readjust,ripped the paint right off.It sucks(being nice).Dont buy it.I am so angry.

Wish I had seen these reviews before my purchase,would never have wasted my money. You can not just wiggle it to remove and relocate things. It rips and tears in little pieces or stretches beyond reusability. Definitely not reusable, I wet it and retried, no tackiness returns at all.Very difficult to remove from glass. Seems the only thing it sticks well to is itself. Big waste of money even if you do the BOGO deal, not a bargain if the product is unusable and causes damage to walls, paint and my belongings get damaged when they fall or it won’t come off of them. My experience was the same. Pictures weighing less than a pound fell off the wall within a few minutes.. Tape did not stick to pictures but it sticks to the wall and is not removable. I have tried razor blades and a putty knife. That is the worst part. Constant reminder of a faulty product.
Alien tape destroys sheetrock walls and WILL NOT hold anything for very long. I tried it and when I put even a 5 lb. picture on the shelf it was holding, the shelf fell and destroyed my sheetrock wall pulling off the paper and paint both. I had to redo my wall. However, it wouldn’t come off the shelf it failed to hold up without super human effort. It definitely will not work on any painted surface. BEWARE!!!!

I notice I am not the only customer that is unhappy with the Alien Tape. Out of the different surfaces I have tried it on, about 97% has come off. Some has caused breakage and some has just hit the floor. I have tried different weights of things I am hanging and some light weight. Doesnt matter, most of them hit the floor. I tried a small shelf and that was a disaster. I tried a bulletin board and after it falling off I finally used three nails.
Most of the time I am able to take the tape off the wall without removing paint or plaster. It works best by rolling the tape from top to bottom like a tortilla.
It looks like a lot of folks need a refund or replacement of tape. It works well behind a picture if used at the bottom on the back of the frame. Then the bulk of the weight is at the top with a nail or some other means of hanging. Good Luck!!!
Boy. Now I know, along with a few of you, these people are charlatans. I put the tape on the back of a picture frame. I went back an hour later only to find the frame had pulled away from the wall on the bottom. The top was held in place by a nail. I am not impressed. And I will be returning the tape wanting a refund. I know…good luck.

I’ve heard lighter fluid can be used in place of goo gone and works like a charm, but never tried it myself. Unsure if it’ll work with alien/nano tape, given how they say it works (minuscule suction cups holding to the surface until you pull & release the suction). I know people who have used it to easily remove old type duct tape residue.
Try wd40 its a staple at myhouse because anything sticky or even paint can be removed with it

I also used a putty knife in conjunction with goo gone to remove duct tape residue from my last apt, and that helped a lot.
Try a hair dryer; warm the area and slowly pull the tape away.
FWIW, with regular duct tape (the silvery woven type with heavy adhesive) WD-40 will remove the residue; of course this will stain walls, but if there’s duct tape on walls I’d assume they were messed up to start with.
You might try WD-40. I’ve used it in the past to remove tar, tape residue and dried grease. Can’t promise it’ll work but it’s worth a shot.
Try WD40, spray on and let sit for awhile. It hardens adhesives and makes them easier to remove. You may need to reapply and/or lengthen the amount of wait time. Good luck.
Tried WD40 on in tape stuck to my tole floor yup tape is still there. Soaked up all the WD40 now I’ll try hair dryer. Yes I’m desperate!!
Have you tried mayonnaise? You have to let it sit for a couple of minutes. It is my go to, maybe it will work with this.
Try using wd 40. 1000’s of uses with that stuff
I saw a video where a guy uses regular scotch tape to kind of roll the alien tape off the wall without leaving any residue.
I read online that you can aim a hairdryer on it, alternating blasts of hot and cool air, then scrape with a knife. Hope this helps!
I am desperately trying to get this useless “tape” of my wall, I’ve used house oil, goo gone, goof off, Dawn soap, razors.. Ugh, I have tried EVERYTHING I can think of to loosen this tape to pull it off my door, landlord is not happy and the same for me!! I can’t believe all these negative reviews about alien tape! I have used it to hang various large and heavy art work on my walls, which are painted drywall btw, and never had any of them fall, get loose or moved In any way. Easily removed if you want to hang another painting or shift to another wall.
I purchased the alien tape and it really holds well, I haven’t use it to hold anything that weighs more than 5lbs. But when I tried to remove it from a painted wall it pulled a significant amount of paint off. Also I used it on drywall and it pulled the drywall off and there is a hole in my wall!! I am very disappointed in how it tore this hole. I wish I could attach pictures of what it did.
Alien Tape was difficult to cut -sticking to the scissors. It appeared to work for a few minutes, but within about a half hour, the little 3 pound shelf I hung fell down on one side. The other side ripped the paint and paper off the wall when I tried to take it down. I agree, the add says ALL SURFACES – the instructions say not on sheetrock. I tried a piece in a hidden area and it didn’t hurt the wall, so I thought it might be okay – but NOT if you try to hang something. It does work to stick the corner of my carpet down – rather high price to pay for THAT! This product does NOT WORK AS ADVERTISED!!

Sadly, I tried to put up a few pictures on my newly painted wall with Alien Tape. Two of the pictures later fell to the floor and when I tried to remove one picture and reposition it, it damaged that wall. If I had known the stuff will damage my painted walls painted walls or won’t even hold my pictures, I wouldn’t bought the stuff a month and a half ago. Ordered this tape on 4/28/20. Don’t remember when I was to receive it. It was not until I threatened to contact my credit card company that I received an answer. Advertisement claims to work on all surfaces. I waited a month to receive this product, only to open and read the instructions. Highlighted in bright yellow print, it reads “If using on sheetrock and painted surfaces. Application will be permanent, removing may cause paint to peel or to leave residue” That is not what the advertisement says. RIP OFF, Do Not Purchase. Could have purchase thru Amazon or Wal-Mart and would not have had to wait a month to receive it and would be easier to return.
In my opinion, Alien tape sucks, not sticks. I bought 3 rolls of the tape and gave one away having two more I am going to throw away. I paid $89 for 3 ceramic butterflies to hang on my bedroom wall behind my sleigh bed. One of the butterflies fell down with two weeks and landed on a picture I was storing behind the headboard. It damaged the frame (which cost $350) in three places. I am now in the process of taking down the other two butterflies to use the old fashioned reliable method of screws and hooks to hold them to the wall. Don’t waste your money unless you are trying to attach something to the floor (where it can’t fall).

Sheetrock and drywall are the same thing.
Every co.mer oak I have seen on tv clearly states it is is not removable from drywall which is the same thing as sheetrock. If you can nail a nail into your wall, it is drywall/sheetrock.

Held a few pieces of paper on a wall. Tried holding a few pounds…held for about 30 seconds and eventually came loose.

I’m with you on this. I’ve used it for several things. It holds very well. I can remove it easily and I am able to reuse it. I am definitely a fan of the Alien Tape.
To remove alien tape spray some liquid gold on it and let it set. First remove the object being held. The Liquid GOLD will cause the tape or any glued surface to slide off. It’s nice on wood surfaces as it leaves a nice shiny surface.
I bought alien tape at walmart i have to admit its pretty good but i put it on my skin and it taked the flesh off my bones… Jokeing. But serious it does work . wish i had it before hanging my pictures on the wall.

Bri feistier, you sure are a rude old lady for calling people liars because we are stating our experiences about not having any problems with the alien Tape. I for one haven’t had any of the problems that I am reading about in these reviews. I am quite satisfied with the alien Tape. So by you calling me a liar just because your negative rude old ass had problems using the tape doesn’t change the fact that I’m still smiling and still using the alien Tape with no problems. I ordered your Alien Tape on March 27th 2020 for $26.94 which was charged to my account and have not yet received my order can you please notify me on why this is taking so long I sure need this tape and am very upset I read your web sight and seems everyone that has received tape were very pleased so please do accompany me with said order I placed thank you

cancel it their tape is crap, it does not hold up on heavy stuff I have followed directions and used extra tape to hold it up but it holds for a lil bit, but comes down to it u may as well use scotch tape for the worth it uses. every picture i put on the wall fall down and scare me and the dogs you never know if it is going to hold or not and I do not want to waste my pictures and the glass replacing them. It is NOT worth it every picture i put up ended up on the floor, so far is fine for taping down small carpet pieces. thats it.

I used Alien Tape for putting up a shelf in my shower 2 weeks ago and it’s already coming off. The shelf and the things on it do not come close to weighing 17.5 lbs. I used a piece of tape that was as long as the entire shelf. I wanted to be sure there would be no problem with the tape holding the shelf. I was wrong! To me, it’s obvious this tape was a waste of money! I regret my purchase.
