Bluepillow Review: Is it a Legit Place to Make Hotel Bookings?

bluepillow reviews

In recent years, the hotel industry has made a move online. Customers can now book their rooms using their phones. While this is very convenient, it comes with the threat of being scammed.

There are countless booking agencies on the internet that are actually scams.

Knowing the details of a business can help you better know whether it is safe enough to put your trust in, as scams can use your personal information to their own benefit.

Today we will be reviewing Bluepillow to see whether it is a safe place to search for hotel bookings or just another scam.

What is Bluepillow?

Bluepillow is a search engine that allows you to search from between 10,000,000 accommodations around the world, in countries such as the US, The Bahamas, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and more.

They claim that using their search engine allows you to find the best deals from online travel agencies. This means that you can save money all while finding accommodation that fits your needs. Their service also does not have any hidden fees.

Bluepillow makes some pretty big claims, but are they true?

bluepillow legit or scam

One of the ways to know whether a business is trustworthy is by checking the age of its domain. The older the domain is, the more trustworthy the business is. We used the domain age checker tool to see that the age for the domain is 18 years old. This is a very long time, and so it tells us that bluepillow is an established business as it has been around for such a long time.

Another sign of a legitimate business is whether they have created and maintained a social media presence. Scams generally do not bother making the effort to do this. This brand has pages on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. This also reflects well on Bluepillow as being a legitimate business.

Furthermore, on scamadviser.com Bluepillow has a high trust ranking 80/100. This means that the likelihood of this brand being a scam is actually very low. You can rest assured that you will not be scammed.

A business with many customer reviews is more likely to be legitimate. The fact that Bluepillow has multiple reviews of it on many platforms, such as Trustpilot, reflects well on its legitimacy.

Additionally, the webpage for Bluepillow also includes extensive contact information, such as a phone number, an email address, and a physical location. Scams generally are hesitant to provide this information, so this is also a good sign you will not be scammed by this brand.

All in all, Bluepillow seems like a legitimate business and not a scam.

What do the customers of Bluepillow say?

Customer reviews are a surefire way to figure out whether or not a business is reliable. On trustpilot.com, there are mixed reviews for Bluepillow. Some said they had an excellent experience booking through their services, while others disagreed.

One of the common complaints was that Bluepillow was actually quoting room prices on their website as lower than they actually are. Furthermore, another complaint is that when somebody made a booking with an agency through this brand, they would later find out they did not have a booking at all.

What are the prices?

The room fares quoted on Blue Pillow’s webpage are actually quite low. Hence, this brand does live up to its claim of showing you the best deals.

What is the cancellation policy for Bluepillow?

As Bluepillow is just a search engine and does not make bookings itself, it does not have a cancellation policy for the bookings made through it. Hotel.com, which is one of Bluepillow’s major partners, mentions that they accept cancellations made within 24 hours of a booking.

As for their other partners, such as Expedia and Booking.com, their cancellation policy is not apparent on their web pages. In order to find out what the cancellation policy is for Bluepillow’s partners, we’d advise you to contact them via their respective email addresses. Although we tried emailing Bluepillow, we did not receive a reply.

Does Bluepillow manage your bookings?

As Bluepillow is just a travel search company and not a booking agency, it does not manage your bookings. If you have issues with your booking that was made through Bluepillow’s partners, we would advise you to contact the respective booking agency. This brand does not accept liability for any issues arising as a result of a booking you might have made with its partners.

Should you buy from Bluepillow?

Overall, we think that Bluepillow is a legitimate business. With a high trust score on scamdetector.com lots of customer reviews and 18-year-old domain age, we think that there is more than enough evidence to suggest that Bluepillow is not a scam.

That said, some people have had negative experiences using their services. If you wish to use Bluepillow’s services, we say go ahead, but make sure to double-check what the charges quoted on this brand are, against the charges for the rooms on other websites, as people have had complaints with Bluepillow on this aspect previously.

  1. Blue Pillow are using my photos and B&B name to advertise accommodation at huge prices which I do not charge.

  2. The reservation we made at Central Guesthouse Reykjavik through BluePillow was not honored. When we showed up, there were no rooms for us. We tried the contact numbers, and there was no response. Finally Expedia got involved, but they were unable to contact Central Guesthouse too. When they were able to get in touch, Central Guesthouse said they would not refund our money. I will never use BluePillow again.
